How to attract good tenants?

 

A few helpful hints on finding the perfect tenant. 

Access to Transport and Basics - How easy is it to get to the main highway, park, or public transportation? Are the basic services within easy reach? Basic necessities like grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping are very important because it affects important factors such as lifestyle and commute to work.

Screening Process - Pull credit reports, verify employment and income,  and check rental references.

Appliances Included - Your tenant incurs a large expense when moving. By providing some appliances on the property, that can be attractive to the potential prospect.

Neighborhood Quality - Quality tenants care about neighborhood quality. Lifestyle picks: biking and walking trails, lakes, tennis, or parks. To have some nearby amenities can be a plus.

Move-in ready - Your target tenant plans to take care of your property and has high standards of clealiness and maintenance. If you provide a move-in ready home, you are communicating that you share those same standards. 

 

Protect your property, it's important to be clear and assertive when screening tenants. Be consistent in your screening. The more you know about the prospect and what they are needing, the more certain you can be that you've made a good choice.
